Keynote: Supporting Young People to Find Success within a Constantly Changing Industrial Landscape
In a world that is constantly evolving and changing, how can educators adequately prepare their students for the rigors that lie ahead of them? With the rapid development of ChatGPT, AI and machine learning, do our education systems need to change from teaching the knowledge and skills to answer the questions, to knowing how to ask the questions? This is not a talk about technology, and predictions for the future. In his address, Mr. Tompkins will look at how we prepare young people of today to consider opportunities that will face them in their future.
Matthew Tompkins, Vice President at GEMS Education, has worked in education for 27 years, 8 years of which were as a Principal. Educated in England, Mr. Tompkins originally worked in schools in the UK. He led the school he was Principal of in the south of England to an Outstanding judgement with OFSTED in June 2016. He has worked in Dubai for GEMS Education since September 2018.
